The Skills for Jobs project was designed to support unemployed adults across the region who had a commitment to finding long-term paid or voluntary employment.
The Skills for Jobs programme in the East of England was supported by the European Social Fund and the Skills Funding Agency and managed by The Consultancy Home Counties (TCHC).
The aim of the project was to provide skills and self-confidence to individuals to help them find long-term employment. Training options available included job search support, application form completion, CV writing skills, communication skills, confidence building and presentation skills.
The Learning Partnership acted as the sub regional lead for the project in Bedfordshire and Luton. Several local training providers have successfully delivered on the project. The project began in 2009 and ended in December 2010 having helped over 650 individuals in their skills development and search for employment.
