Migrant Worker Qualification Conversion – Transqual

This project has now closed but if you are an unemployed migrant worker living within the borough of Bedford and have a qualification you would like comparing you may be eligible for our new ESF project: Migrant Employment Support 2011-2013. Follow the link to find out more or give us call.

Alternatively you can contact NARIC directly who can offer you a comparison  service at a fee.

This project was delivered between 2008 and 2011.
The project mapped the existing qualifications of migrant workers in the East of England to ensure that their skills and previous qualifications are appropriate for their employment intentions in the UK.

Transqual East Of England provided a free qualification comparison service to migrant workers who were in employment and to individuals from black and minority ethnic (BME) communities.

The qualification conversion project provided a specialist information and advice service to migrant workers from the European Union and BME migrants from Africa, Asia and the rest of the world recently entering the UK and coming to work in the East of England.

An initial interview was offered to assess the level of duties within the client’s current role and collect information on the qualifications they held from outside of the UK. Qualifications were compared to the suite of databases held by the National Recognition Information Centre (UK NARIC) to assess the UK equivalent and issue a  local letter of comparison.

This was followed by a further Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) session to discuss possible progression and assistance with approaching the client’s employer with this information.

Assistance was provided where possible to progress clients onto higher skill levels.
