Vocality Project

The Vocality Project is being run by the Learning Partnership Bedfordshire and Luton Ltd and is an e-learning pilot.  This project is to enable Voluntary and Community Sector deliverers to explore innovative practice in the use of the information and communications technology (ICT) to support learning in any subject/curriculum areas within the organisation.  The pilot will involve running a workshop to disseminate good practice using materials and e-guides developed by NIACE.  We plan to build on the successful Partnership use of laptops, which help voluntary groups to have access to computer technology and the Internet to support training and learning.  All laptops will be loaded with the identified software to help students learning.

This e-learning pilot with a variety of community learners will explore the longer term benefots of technology as a medium to enhance access and widen participation.  The Vocality Project involves running one course using e-learning over a three month period working with three community organisations.  The organisations will get an introduction to e-learning and an opportunity to enhance training available for staff and clients.  The project will create a shared learning space available for project partners to access and populate.  A partner's area with information, advice and background papers would be made available for everyone involved in the project.  Individual project areas for each of the partners, would be set up for each of the partners and we would help them to populate their are to support the learning programme.
