The course at Bedford Prison was aimed at cutting down on re-offending by re-establishing a healthy couple relationship following release. The course entailed eleven, one day workshops for prisoners and their partners. The aim of the course was to avoid future homelessness of prisoners by improving the prospects of having a home to go back to and to improve the prospects for children of having an intact family life following the return of parent from prison. The objectives were to involve the partner in pre-release planning and to improve the quality of life for the post prison couple.
The project activities entailed written exercises with the group and individual discussions. This lead to to the completion of an Open College Network book obtaining an OCN accreditation and certificate by 55 prisoners and partners.
