Meadow Way Community Association

This project has put a sense of community and hope back into the Meadow Way Community area where there are significant number of adults who are economically inactive with low or no qualifications who have basic skills needs.  The community has been deemed ‘hard to reach’ for many years.

The project has helped establish a learning centre in the community which has removed the barriers to learning, providing opportunities for adults to gain accreditation in a familiar setting, helping build trust so that the learners felt safe and comfortable within the environment.  An ICT course was established and many people were able to undertake Level 1 qualification.

The Mother and Toddler Group

The Mother and Toddler Group met each Friday and undertake Family Learning with structured activities.  They have made scrapbooks, sung songs, made story sacks and been encouraged to take computer lessons.

The project has developed good partnership working and has led to sustained learning opportunities and learning progression that meet the needs and interests of groups, individuals and the wider community.
