
Funded by The Learning Skills Council, the project provides an information and advice service to assist BME groups to secure additional funding for projects around learning.
The project began in March 2006, working with 20 organisations in Luton and Bedfordshire. My role as project worker is to support volunteers in BME organisations to:
A large part of my role has been signposting organisations to other BME voluntary sector partners to develop their ideas for projects and help to prepare collaborative funding applications.
Networking with capacity building projects (such as The Luton Dunstable Partnership) and other organisations the project has secured almost £3/4million of funding to support learning activities across Luton and Bedford for 17 BME voluntary groups. Some of our successes to date are:
