Groundwork Luton & Bedfordshire is an environmental charity that works alongside the community to transform places and lives, helping people and organisations to make changes in order to create better neighbourhoods, build skills and job prospects, and to encourage Bedfordshire residents to live and work in a greener way.
Groundwork are currently a partner on the Neighbourhood Learning in Deprived Communities 2011-12 project.

Groundwork Luton & Bedfordshire creates projects and services that benefit both people and the environment. Operating across Luton and Bedfordshire, its activity is focussed on disadvantaged communities where Groundwork can make the most difference.
During 2011 Groundwork Luton & Bedfordshire:
Recent Groundwork projects include: running a highly successful course in Houghton Regis which enabled unemployed adults to pass the Construction Skills Certification Scheme health and safety test (funded by Neighbourhood Learning in Deprived Communities through The Learning Partnership); a project which enabled families in Houghton Regis to obtain the John Muir Discovery Award through participating in a range of environmental activities in local green spaces; running an “Eco-Action Networking Event” in Luton (in partnership with Bedfordshire and Luton Chamber of Commerce) which provided local businesses with an opportunity for genuine networking whilst carrying out a one day environmental project.
