Family Groups
A multi-cultural charitable organisation aiming to reduce isolation and increase the confidence of the women in the local community.
Involved with The Learning Partnership on the NLDC 2010/11 and Economic Participation Bedford projects.
Family Groups is a registered charity established in 1982 and based in the Cauldwell ward of Bedford. Their aim is to support women and children who experience disadvantages such as language barriers, poverty and isolation. Family Groups deliver workshops, informal and formal training
courses at their centre, local children centres and other locations.
Family Groups deliver crèches for pre school children as a part of the workshops and training courses. The crèche staff aim to improve the development and understanding of each child and work to a high standard to provide a safe and stimulating environment.
The organisation promotes free play and aims to encourage each child’s learning by exploring their own interests, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage principles.
