Bedfordshire and Luton Mind

Bedfordshire and Luton Mind is an independent voluntary organisation, affiliated to National Mind, dedicated in supporting individuals experiencing mental health difficulties.

Mind are currently working in partnership with the Learning Partnership to deliver a project for Neighbourhood Learning in Deprived Communities (NLDC) 2011/12.

Bedfordshire and Luton Mind is an independent voluntary organisation affiliated to National Mind.  BLM is dedicated in supporting individuals experiencing mental health difficulties.  All the work we do is based on recovery for the individual; it includes social inclusion in our local communities as well as reducing stigma that is still associated with mental health.

Our support is offered at our venues, wellbeing centres across Bedfordshire and Luton including Weller Wing and remote work in East Bedfordshire. We work with youth 14-24 years in our Youth in Mind project and adults 18 years and over in other services and projects.

We work in partnership with other agencies which complement each other, provide robust services and present best practice

Our work:

Working with young people providing group and 1:1 support

Working with adults, using The Recovery Star as part of their own individual recovery and  offering group inclusion.

Early intervention for adults with mild to moderate mental health problems 1:1 sessions with our psychological wellbeing workers

Education and training for individuals with mental health difficulties, professionals, public, private organisations and the general public.

Support to enable individuals prepare for employment provide training and a route for access.

Volunteers who support groups and individuals through 1:1, mentoring sessions and offering assistance, specialism and support in achieving goals.

Provide information, individual support and courses helping individuals to improve their own wellbeing and lifestyle
