Bedford Training Group

Bedford Training Group is a leading provider of engineering training in Bedfordshire with three centres in Bedford and Leighton Buzzard specialising in construction and a third in Kempston, which specialises in engineering, motor vehicle and electrical training. Although we specialise in the training of engineering apprentices we also provide a wide variety of training courses in administration, management skills, PAT Testing and 17^th edition electrical courses.

Companies placing apprentices with us at BTG range from small garages with a hndful of employees to the big main dealers like Nissan, Liebherr and Aircraft Research Association. Many of these companies manufacture components and some specialise in aerospace, vehicle design and development for military hardware.

BTG actively work with schools in Bedfordshire in a variety of projects and programmes. Many of our learners join our full-time programmes directly from school.

Students still attending school can still participate in our vocational training packages. This is an excellent opportunity to ‘’taste’’ training programmes in a choice of areas, for example construction and build environment, motor vehicle, engineering and ICT. All lead to certification. This participation can provide routes into full-time employment through apprenticeships or guaranteed places on full-time training programmes.

BTG was established in 1971. Since then we have gone on to receive many success stories from apprentices we have trained up in the past. We have invested in the latest equipment to help our apprentices with all their training needs, from diagnostic equipment to controlled assembly plants and new computers.

The Vocational Skills Training (VST) opened in Leighton Buzzard in September 2006 followed by a second VST site opening  in Bedford in September 2007.

VST, part of Bedford Training Group has been actively involved with the Learning and Skills Council (now Skills Funding Agency) and quality improvements agency to help develop the new foundation learning tier progression pathway programme.
Since opening in 2006 VST have been working with 10 upper schools across Bedfordshire, colleges, connexions, LSC and local authority.

BTG also run a specialist management training company M+TT established in 1992 (Management and Technology Training) which provides training to a broad range of business sectors. Since then we have developed a comprehensive range of products designed to meet a wide variety of modern business needs creating an enviable record of continuously developing our products and resources and operating nationwide with Bedford serving as the organisation’s headquarters.
