Luton Sixth Form College

The main purpose of Luton Sixth Form College is to be a centre of excellence for the education of young people.  The staff, students and governors of the College believe in:

  • Students: as the focus for the work of everyone in the College
  • Mutual Respect: caring for and valuing staff, students and our community
  • Integrity: honest, hard work and commitment
  • Learning: a passion for learning and its capacity to change lives
  • Excellence: high aspirations, high standards and high achievement

Luton Sixth Form College was the first sixth form college in the UK and continues to be forefront in its field by achieving outstanding inspection and examination results.  Our network of award winning student support staff and advisors work hard to ensure students enjoy their time at College, whilst feeling safe and secure.

Pass grades for A levels improved for the fifth year running, well above the national average. In the OFSTED inspection report (published in December 2003) the College recorded one of the highest performances by a sixth form college in the country.

The College has been accredited with the ‘Investor in People’ Award and in 2004 was awarded the Learning & Skills Beacon Status, by the Department for Education and Skills.

Don’t just take our word for it though, here are just a couple of quotes from former students on what they thought of the College:

“The staff are really good, resource bases are a great place to study and ICT equipment is brilliant.”
Former student, Manbir Samra, who went on to study Religions at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London

“I would recommend the College because of the quality of teaching and sociable atmosphere.”
Former student, Lee Scott, who went on to study Finance, Accounting and Management at the University if Nottingham.
