Luton Library

Luton Central Library is the largest library in Luton, offering a range of books and other media to help with your information, education and leisure needs.  Luton Central Library has a full range of services, facilities and activities. There are separate sections for children, teenagers, audio-visual items, adult lending and reference.

The children’s library on the ground floor has books, stories on cassette, videos and DVDs to suit children of all ages from babies to Key Stage 3.

There is a homework club on Saturday mornings for children aged 8 years and older. Library staff are on hand to help with questions and to show children how to use the books and the computers to find information.

The lending library on the first floor has a great selection of titles from your favourite classics to the latest blockbusters. There is also a wide range of information books to help you with your study, leisure and hobbies.

Also on this floor is the Sound and Vision section where, for a small charge, you can borrow a wide range of audio and video items; there’s something to suit every taste, from pop to garage, classical to reggae and new country to blues.

We have an extensive range of CDs, music books and scores. On video and DVD we have the latest films and blockbusters, including a great range of Asian and Bollywood movies.  The library also has a great range of Playstation2 games including Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Scooby-Doo; Mystery Mayhem and This is Football 2004.
On the second floor you will find the reference, business and family history sections. We offer a wide range of information from a variety of sources, including books, microfiche, CD-Rom and the Internet.

We also have a comprehensive collection of local studies material available for use in the library, including some original documents, maps and photographs.

Throughout the building you may use the library catalogues and the People’s Network computers. There are over 50 terminals available to the public.
Fax and photocopying facilities are available.
