Luton Adult Education
Access and Achievement for All
Luton Adult Education aims to provide specifically designed courses for adults in the community, giving each individual the opportunity to learn, achieve and realise their full potential.
We offer a wide range of part-time quality assured qualification courses for those looking to gain recognized certificate as well as a variety of adult and community learning provision.
We also deliver a wide range of family learning activities with our partner schools within the Children and Learning Directorate of Luton Borough Council. We are experienced in delivering high quality, relevant provision within some of the deprived communities we serve. We also work with partners from the statutory and voluntary sectors on a wide range of projects.
We offer pre-entry level 1, 2, and 3 provision across many areas of learning for example Childcare, ICT, Modern Foreign Languages, GCSE’s, some ‘A’ Levels and general interest courses.
Our Skills for Life provision (Literacy, Numeracy, English for Speakers of Other Languages) is very extensive. We are working with employers to encourage adults to gain a qualification for basic skills. We offer RAW sessions (reading and Writing through the BBC campaign and ‘Move On’.
Initial assessment in all appropriate programmes will be used to encourage learners to gain types of skills for life qualifications alongside other provision e.g. teaching assistants, learning mentors and childcare.
We signpost to other providers to enable the learner to progress their learning. Our Bitesize campaign has been successful in ’capturing new learners’.
Luton Adult Education believes in the principle of ‘working together’ to provide local learning opportunities and we endeavour to encourage and build partnerships at all levels.
