Key Principles
The Learning Partnership activity is guided by key principles and these underpin and give direction to its work:
- To clearly articulate the vision to its community and encourage innovation and change, which supports provision of high quality learning opportunities to benefit local people.
- To listen and champion the learner and latent learner within our communities, acknowledging the strengths of the diversity of both the people and the geographical area, positively promoting equity of opportunity and access to learning opportunities.
- To work in a spirit of openness and trust to identify, and report on local issues, sharing examples of excellent practice, and dealing with challenges through a mutually supportive environment.
- To be inclusive and representative in its membership, of the locality it serves.
- To adopt and implement the agreed codes of conduct detailed in Compact - the principles of effective partnership between voluntary, community and statutory sectors.
The Learning Partnership is seen as a neutral body and honest broker and one that can take a broad strategic view on local issues, and provide a 'central signpost' for both contacts and funding sources.
Against that shifting backdrop the Learning Partnership, as an independent organisation, has maintained the commitment of partners, widened its membership and added value to activity undertaken jointly.
